I have been practicing martial arts for over 36 years, learning from internationally recognized masters from seven countries, and earning the equivalent of black belts in the martial arts of: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Eskrima, Tai Chi, Qigong, Muay Thai, and Kenpo.
I started teaching martial arts to a handful of students in the basement of my house until joining the United States Marine Corps (USMC). There I was assigned to teach knife fighting techniques to a battalion of over 1000 Marines prior to their shipping out for the first Gulf War. Once there, my job was to set and defuse anti-personnel and anti-tank mines. My martial arts training had taught me yielding’s enhanced external and internal awareness skills that allowed me to be successful in the USMC.
After leaving the marines, I attended Portland State University, earning two bachelor’s degrees in business finance and business management. Soon after I opened up Portland Tai Chi Academy/Northwest Fighting Arts.
Over the last 26 years, I have taught over 20,000 students in my martial arts academy, Portland Tai Chi Academy/Northwest Fighting Arts. It is one of the largest and most successful in the Pacific Northwest with over 500 currently active students.
I have taken everything I’ve learned over the years and put it into dozens of lessons that you can watch. Become one of my students from anywhere in the world! Let me teach you the essential elements and principles of the practice and how to incorporate it into your daily life. It can improve your mental peace, positivity, physical strength, reduce high blood pressure and increase mobility. Become my student today with my online course!
The great thing about this practice is it can benefit anyone. You can study Tai Chi-Qigong for the Health benefits, Martial Arts, Therapeutic benefits, Medical training, philosophical applications or the meditative side of the training. Practicing Tai Chi on a regular basis will improve your mind-body connection and make you healthier than you have in years.
Through the years I have had over 25,000 students come through my martial arts academy and never once have I met two that followed the same path. This is one of the beautiful forms of art.
